To register a new arrival, an adult may visit one of our service counters in person with:

Any minor may be registered by the person with custody of the child.
A married couple or civil partnership may be registered by either spouse or either partner.
There is no fee for registering a change of address within the municipality.

The declaration of arrival for a citizen coming from another municipality in Luxembourg can also be made via the MyGuichet.lu platform.
This procedure is limited to citizens already residing in the Grand Duchy who are transferring their usual residence within the country. Newcomers moving from abroad to Luxembourg are therefore not covered by this measure.

Declaration of Departure Abroad

Anyone wishing to declare their departure from the Municipality of Mondercange to a foreign country may visit one of our service counters. They must also present a valid ID, surrender their foreigner’s card, and provide a new, valid address. A certificate of change of residence will then be issued to them.

To handle administrative formalities regarding trash collection and water usage, the billing department is at your disposal.

A citizen residing in a Luxembourg municipality may also declare their departure to a foreign country via the MyGuichet.lu platform.
This procedure is limited to citizens already residing in the Grand Duchy who are transferring their habitual residence abroad.

Certificate of Residence – Extended Certificate of Residence – Certificate of Registration at a Reference Address – Certificate of Life

The various certificates are issued upon presentation of an ID document. With the exception of the life certificate, which requires the physical presence of the person concerned, the certificates can be requested via MaCommune.lu or downloaded via MyGuichet.lu.

Extract from the electoral roll

An extract from the electoral roll is issued upon presentation of a valid ID.

Certified copies

Certified copies can only be issued upon presentation of the original documents.

Following the adoption of the law of May 29, 2009, abolishing the requirement to provide a certified copy of an original document, it follows that in any administrative procedure involving the State, municipalities, or a legal entity under public law, certification that a copy of a document issued by a Luxembourg administrative authority or an administrative authority of another European Union (EU) member state—to be submitted in such proceedings—is a true copy of the original may no longer be required.

Signature Legalization

Any signature to be authenticated must be made in the presence of an official at the Population Office upon presentation of a valid ID.

Parental authorization will be issued, upon presentation of identification, to the person with custody of the child in question.
Any person requesting parental authorization must provide the following information:

  • the child’s first and last name
  • first and last name of the accompanying person (if applicable, the name of the company, club, or school AND the first and last name of the accompanying person)
