Description de l’alerte

In Austria, rat poison was detected in a HiPP baby food jar labelled ‘Gemüsegläschen Karotte mit Kartoffel 190 Gramm’, marked with a white sticker with a red circle on the base of the jar. Further jars have been found in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Investigations are ongoing. This is believed to be a deliberate and malicious act.

To date, there is no evidence to suggest that products sold in Luxembourg are affected.

Advices - according to the latest findings of the investigation, suspect products can be identified by the following features:

  • a white sticker with a red circle on the base of the jar,
  • a lid that has already been opened or is damaged,
  • a missing safety seal (no ‘click’ sound when opening for the first time),
  • an unusual or spoiled smell (according to witness statements).
