Description de l’alerte
The south of Luxembourg has been placed under awareness level orange floods from 24.09.2025 10:00 to 25.09.2025 08:00. The awareness level can be adapted or extended depending on the evolution of the situation.
Water levels in the south of the country continue to rise rapidly.
On the Alzette, water levels at the Hesperange, Pfaffenthal, Steinsel and Mersch gauges have already exceeded the “cote de vigilance orange”. At the Ettelbrück gauge, water levels will exceed the “cote de vigilance orange” in the afternoon.
At the Pfaffenthal, Steinsel, and Mersch gauges, water levels may even rise around the range of the “cote de vigilance rouge”.
Water levels will fall again in the evening and drop below the “cote de vigilance orange” during the night.
Rapid rises and elevated water levels may occur especially in smaller watercourses.
Increased caution is advised for seasonal activities along watercourses (camping, etc.), construction sites, and generally near rivers.
Please take precautions and inform yourself on the right behaviour to adopt.
