Floods in the north of Luxembourg

The north of Luxembourg has been placed under awareness level orange floods from 08.09.2025 23:00 to 09.09.2025 18:00. The awareness level can be adapted or extended depending on the evolution of the situation. 

In northern Luxembourg, particular caution is required near small watercourses and in frequently affected areas during seasonal activities (such as campsites, construction sites, etc.).

At the Diekirch gauge on the Sauer, the “orange alert level” is expected to be exceeded in the early morning hours according to the current forecast. At the Bollendorf gauge, a rise in water levels into the “orange alert level” range cannot be ruled out.
