Passports - Technical Adaptations
As part of the technical preparations for the introduction of the new Luxembourgish passport, a temporary restriction is to be expected.
On Friday, May 8, 2026, no passport applications will be accepted.
Applications for the new passport will be accepted from Monday, May 11, 2026.
What changes:
Validity duration based on age:
- 2 years for children under 4 years old
- 5 years for children aged 4 to 18
- 10 years for adults
The procedures and costs remain unchanged.
